In Steven Pressfield’s book “The War on Art,” he writes, “Most of us have two lives. The life we live, and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands resistance.”
Doing the thing we resist is one of the most liberating things we can do for ourselves. Most of us have something we would like to do but haven’t done for a variety of reasons. Mine is taking the time to create art and sharing my writing on social media. All of which I am doing...oftentimes causing me to feel uncomfortable because it involves being vulnerable. Despite this, it is empowering to know that resistance/fear do not dictate our life choices. This is the reason we should continue to push the boundaries of resistance. What keeps me going personally is that I love what I do. And for this alone, I am willing to put up with the efforts resistance takes to subdue my dreams. Fear will only win if we let it.
For this new moon on Friday, start to prepare yourself. Start thinking about your dreams. What are they? Feel them, visualise yourself there, write them down. Then cast them out to the universe. It’s time to stop resisting who we are. The new moon is about manifesting and allowing ourselves to be open about what we truly want, while allowing ourselves to welcome back into our lives what resistance has held hostage for so long. And then of course taking the necessary action to actualise our dreams.
